The spiritual process of growth takes place when an individual is able to fully give themselves over to something bigger. This does not mean, nor require, you have to be a person of religious faith, more or less you need to begin to accept that there are bigger forces at play in your life.
Only when you give yourself over to shedding your current beliefs and becoming more conscious of your inner being can you begin to uncover the human spirit hidden behind an ego-personality.
Spiritual growth is the foundation of living a better and more fulfilled life. One that focuses on harmony, away from anxiety, fear and tension. Undergoing spiritual growth is important for everyone, in all walks of life.
Only when you accept even just a few of these key points can you begin to immerse yourself in living a more spiritually guided and healthy life.
1. Learning tolerance, understanding and patience
Most cannot begin to grip this concept in society due primarily to personal difference, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious or political belief.
Learn to step away from things that do not effect your own nature or being, instead of wasting energy in conflict. Only then will you put yourself in a position to begin to understand the nature of anything.
2. Get into the habit of having a positive outlook
Not one person walking this earth does not endure at-least one hard day in their existence. Some make it look easy, these individuals may practice power of positivity. This being the habit of finding the silver lining in all negative situations and it takes persistent conditioning, being the result of rebounding from some of the most negative situations over time.
3. Be thankful for everything
Showing gratitude for even the smallest things is not only humbling but it keeps a person in check. Practicing something so simple will improve your overall outlook on life giving you a deeper appreciation for the littlest of lifes gifts.
4. Practicing meditation daily
The thought of meditation seems to be taboo in society and it’s still a very difficult concept for most to understand. In its simplest form, this is “you time” and it’s also very integral for those displaying active amounts of empathy as well. Meditation can come in the form of many different activities, things that allow you to reflect, recharge and escape from the energy of your surroundings.
5. Learning to buffer your thoughts
Practicing this is highly beneficial for most suffering from high anxiety or an over active thought process. Building healthy habits of quieting the mind can be developed through simple concentration exercises and even meditation as described in the previous section.
6. Expand your knowledge
Having an open mind and being able to study more about the nature of things and how the universe works will expose you to some of the richest cultural beliefs. Fluently practice what you read and learn how you can apply it to your own life and circumstance.
7. Exercising power of restraint
Strengthening your will power and decision making ability will help you to avoid most negative situations that we are drawn too naturally in our daily lives. Most of the time we are not out looking to be involved in them.
But by a chain of events and choices we sometimes become intertwined with people places and things we shouldn’t be. Learn to focus and assess things, play them out in your mind and always strive to be one step ahead.
8. Learn to love, nurture and understand yourself
We go to great lengths to protect and nurture some of our most prized material possessions often overlooking the most important. This being “you”, learn to fuel yourself daily and make it a habit of asking yourself what you want, what is it that makes you feel conscious and alive. A person should be most comfortable in their own company, make learning who you are your top priority.
